Harken electric winches offer cruising sailors the convenience of powered winches in an easily installed system. Winches operate using waterproof switches located near the winch. A locking handle—inserted when the winch is not under load—automatically disconnects the electric motor gearbox. The disconnect mechanism prevents winch and handle from rotating while switch is activated.
For very high line speeds under low loads, winches size 60 and larger can be special-ordered with three speeds.
Sizes 44 through 980 are offered for either 12 or 24 volts and mount vertically or horizontally. The anchor plate allows winch maintenance without removing the motor/gear reduction assembly. Both motor and sealed gear reduction box feature anti-corrosion protection. |
